MOHAMMAD ASHRAF: ONE MAN ARMY

Jammu, Oct 11 (Only Kashmir), Ajmer Alam Wani
Born in an agriculturist family and joined the education department in the year 1986, a man with a mission had to travel 26 years long journey serving the department, to reach his dream chair as Chief Education Officer (CEO) Doda. Now one mission is accomplished and now he is on another mission from the day one after he joined as CEO Doda, he wants to streamline the derailed education system in Doda district by taking care of every need of students, people as well as teachers and other staffers.
In an exclusive interview with Ajmer Alam Wani, the dynamic Chief Education Officer (CEO) Doda, Mohammed Ashraf said that there are numerous problems likewise shortage of teaching / non teaching staff in the schools situated in far-flung areas of Doda and added that shortly “We are going to appoint/engage 189 teachers + 131 RETs already advertised in Socially and Backward areas and expressed hope that these teachers being well qualified will work with dedication and sincerity to uplift the education standard.
He also cautioned to go tough against the officials in CEO and ZEO officers found involved in favouritism and corrupt practices so the students do not suffer.
HERE ARE THE EXCERPTS FROM THE INTERVIEW
Q. The time when you joined the education department initially what was your dream that time and had you thought that one day you will become CEO that too of your home district?
ANS:   I joined the Education Department as lecturer in Physics in the year 1986 at HSS Dachhan with a sole dream to service the society as an effective teacher particularly for the betterment of students and at that time to reach upto this office was one of the dreams in my life. Today by the grace of almighty I have been blessed with the responsibility to serve as CEO Doda.
Q. What hurdles and problems you faced to reach this post and what challenges you think will come in your way ahead?
ANS:  It is natural phenomena to achieve a goal one has to face hurdles and problems but so far myself is concerned, no such hurdles and problems came forward to me to reach this post because of the transparent and good governance of the Govt.  There are number of challenges before me to streamlines the education system in District Doda but I will try to my best to come to the expectation of public with the cooperation of people of District Doda, District administration and the higher authorities.
Q.  Having vast experience in education department, what you observed so-far about the education scenario in Doda district?
ANS:  In view of topography of District Doda being hilly district, there are numerous problems likewise shortage of teaching / non teaching staff in the schools situated in far flung areas. But shortly we are going to appoint/engage 189 teachers + 131 RETs already advertised in socially and backward areas and I hope my teachers being well qualified will work with dedication and sincerity / dedication to uplift the education standard.
Q. Do you agree that present education system in Doda district has been influenced by politics and corruption?
ANS: No. There is neither any illegal influence of politics in the education system in District Doda nor is any question of corruption in the education system.
Q.  What you suggest, and will act upon as CEO Doda to streamline the system and how you will ensure quality education in schools, particularly in far flung areas?
ANS: I as Chief Education Officer Doda suggest to the general public, political parties, panchayats, to cooperate with education department in positive manner to streamline the system. Moreover,   I will take the help of district administration, and my predecessors in this regard.
Q.  There are reports that clerical staff in CEO and ZEO offices, is involved in favouritism and corrupt practices due to which students are suffering badly and education system is derailed, will you be able to crack this deep rooted nexus or will ultimately surrender ?
ANS: I cannot speak on this question at this time because it is my first day as CEO Doda. But I assure if such reports found factual, this system cannot be tolerated at any cost and action in this regard shall be taken.
Q. The first major challenge for you will be posting of newly recruited teachers,  may be you face political pressure, influence and the as usual personnel relations also , how will you do justice to you chair while making new postings and what will be your priorities and criteria will you adopt while posting ?
ANS: Yet, the posting of newly recruited teachers is a hectic job for the office, because most of the selected candidates are female and vacancies/shortage of staff is in far flung areas , but this will be done after threadbare discussion with the Principals/ZEOs/ Headmasters keeping in view the need of staff/subject teachers in the needy schools.
Q. There are reports that before making new postings rationalisation will be done and old staff will be adjusted in cities, while the new will be sent to villages and other far off areas, but while releasing the list of teachers, it was clearly mentioned that these teachers will be posted against the clear vacancies and to fill those vacancies no transfer will be made, don’t you think rationalisation will be against the directions and contradictory ?
ANS: Rationalization process will be done in accordance with the norms set up by the higher authorities through a committee already constituted for the purpose.
Q: There are many cases of attachments of RRTs, which earlier CEO was unable to check, will you take any stern action against such practices?
ANS: So far as this question is concerned this will be checked only after having a meeting with the field functionaries and the action in accordance with the rules shall be taken.
Q. What action will you take against the Pvt Educational institutions, not fulfilling the norms?
ANS:  Private educational institutions if found functioning in violation of the rules set up by the department, the stern action shall be taken against the defaulters.
Q: At last what clear message you wish for teachers and students and parents?
ANS: I being the son of soil as a Chief Education Officer Doda want to give a message through the medium of media to teachers to work with dedication, sincerity and honestly in the schools and do justice with the poor students. Moreover, they are also advised to maintain regularly, punctuality and discipline in the schools. At the same time I appeal to the parents to the students to cooperate to the teachers with a positive attitude .Because hard work is the key of success for the students to achieve the goal in life.

FACEBOOK TENSION GRIPS YOUTH OF VALLEY

By: Bilal Bashir Bhat
After the release of recent anti-Islamic video by a western scoundrel which sparked violent protests throughout the Muslim world that resulted the deaths of dozens including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens. Even the railways minister of Pakistan, Ghulam Ahmad Balor, said he would pay the reward of £60,000 out of his own pocket to one who will kill the filmmaker.
Meanwhile Kashmir also witnessed the strong protests against the filmmakers, US and Israel, a daylong complete strike was observed throughout Jammu and Kashmir, Demonstrators burned U.S. flags and demanded filmmakers be punished, Authorities imposed curfew in some parts of Srinagar, a Government vehicle was torched, however fortunately no loss of life was reported during the protests.
Every Muslim of Kashmir was demanding the ban on Youtube, where the blasphemous video was available for every user who may wish to watch or download.  Later the video was blocked in various countries including India, after the White House denounced the film.
Here in Kashmir, the most popular social media sites Facebook and Twiiter were found full of Anti America & Israel content which was uploaded by Lakhs of people to register their protest against the same. Every user was demanding the ban on Youtube. Even the Cabinet led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also denounced the video.
Finally the attention was diverted following the ongoing T-20 world cup in Sri Lanka, now the same Facebook walls of same users was full of content supporting favorite cricket team mostly Pakistan.
But hours after the President Pranab Mukherjee’s arrival here in Kashmir on 26th September, Government by some unknown reasons ordered Internet-service providers to block social networking websites such as YouTube and Facebook. However some people can access Facebook as well as YouTube on their mobile phones, while Facebook can sometimes be opened on laptops and computers via broadband, but this access comes and goes.
Reacting to media reports, Minister for Information and Technology Aga Ruhullah, however, denied any attempt to crack down on free speech in Kashmir. “We are liberal as before,” he said. “But it is the right of every government to control a bad situation.”
“It is due to the ban imposed on Facebook and YouTube…We are sorry, but the sites are barred till further orders by Government,” a Tata Docomo customer care executive told this writer during a conversation on phone.
In the present modern times, Facebook is an inexpensive form of communication with friends and relatives throughout the world. But after the blockage of Facebook, frustration among youth including this writer can be identified easily.
Every youth of Kashmir addicted to Facebook seems helpless against the uncertain orders of blockage of Media Networks by state Government, where SMS service is already blocked for the last two years.
Finally, being a Journo I would like to request State Assembly members for a discussion in Assembly regarding the blockage of Facebook as this matter is same related to almost every household like the Gas subsidy.

KASHMIR, THE SYMBOL OF UNO FAILURE: ZARDARI

New York, Sep 26 (Only Kashmir): Kashmir remains a symbol of the failures of the U.N. system, says Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari. He made this remark on the disputed region bordering India while addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
Zardari affirmed Pakistan's resolve to support the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, which remains to be the bone of contention between the two countries since their partition in 1947.
"Kashmir remains a symbol of the failures, rather than strengths of the U.N. system. We feel that resolution of these issues can only be arrived in an environment of cooperation," he told the 67th session of the General Assembly on the first day of its annual General Debate.
Zardari linked Pakistan's strides towards democracy and peace to its role at the United Nations which, he said, necessitated reform to better reflect democratic principles.
"The U.N. represents our common aspirations for peace and development," he said. "However, it needs reform. The U.N. system must become more democratic and more accountable. Reform should be based on consensus and democratic principles,"  according to the Pak leader. (OK)

AN OPEN LETTER TO MUFTI MOHAMMAD SAYEED BY TAHIR MUZTER

Srinagar Only Kashmir 22 Sep 2012
My Dear Mufti Sahib

I think, I need not introduce myself   to you. Yes, the only difference ‘’Tahir Muzter”, then and now is--- I have now grown old.  My age now demands rest, but my political   consciousness     instigates me to   continue with writing. What I write now-   it is more as a son of Kashmir than as a   journalists. It is not without a reason.    2008, when  soft   and hard  Hindutva, swooped   down on  Kashmir, with  a  war  crime  “ECONOMIC BLOCKED”, I  came to know,  that  Kashmir  has virtually became  a  colony, that  too under he  cover of  democracy, and  it is at the verge  of becoming   a  new  Palestine , when  we study the  situation  with serious thought,
Today I am addressing you, ,  as    I  said as a son of Kashmir , knowing   that  you   are the leader   of   the big, only   large opposition party in Kashmir –PDP,   undoubtedly with good public following. -------YES!  Mufti Sahib,    You are    well aware   that Amarnath is again in news.  Road or no   road.  But the    controversy is afresh.  Alarming apprehensions   of destruction of ecological situation. and  also  un-bridled  powers  to  the  Shrine  Board    are   under discussion  in  Kashmir  To  express their concern, the  people  0f   Kashmir observed  Hartal  on  4th instant  on the  Call of  Syed  Ali   Shah  Geelani, though   he did not take  notice of  this  dangerous situation    during  Amarnath  Land Row in  2008,  when he and   Mirwaiz   dominated    the scene.  But now, he too   see   situation alarming ------But why not you and your Party.
After Amaranth Land Row in 2008,     this time too as usual ‘’ Kashmir’s logical voice’   has again irked, right wing   Hindu Parties. They have warned not only the   separatist leaders only but    the regional mainstream parties too.           This is not   a mere   assumption something but they have declared in clear terms. —--------------“The Hindu bodies will forcefully counter the propaganda unleashed by separatists, their supporters and valley based main stream political parties against the facilities being provided to pilgrims of holy Amaranth shrine by the Government’’(Early Times, Jammu).
The leaders of various Hindu organizations, social activists and intellectuals who participated in a meeting organized by Baba Amaranth & Buda Amaranth Yatri Niyas (BABAYN) on Saturday to frame a roadmap to counter the propaganda and misinformation campaign launched by the separatists of Kashmir valley, as they   put it. --- “We will not allow any one to interfere in the religious affairs of Hindus.”  (Early Times, Jammu)
All this clearly means that   KashmirisOr their leadership    will   not be allowed, to raise their voice   to protect   their interests of the people. They are talking again in terms of their mussel power   and their   majority-might.  In this situation, 2008 situation cannot be ruled out ---- In this situation   another blockade against Kashmir     can not be ruled   out.      If  the people  of  Kashmir  will go ahead   to raise  their voice , they  will , be as usual, dubbed  as   IslamisT5S, as separatists , as  militants and    Pakistanis----  This  is what happened in 2008.
In   this situation Kashmiries   have the right to ask    you and your party ----as to why you and you party is mysteriously silent   on   the new development. YES! Kashmir’s eyes   are on you----because  they don’t  expect  even a Paper- statement    from  National  Conference  or Congress.----Whereas the  National  Conference  Government is factually  founder of this  serious trouble the Congress   has  been  a  collaborator  Congress  in  this  big conspiracy---And  you are  the  eye  witness to  al this----    but  still    mysteriously  silent-------------Why. Kashmir Want to know.
You are  the   first  man in  Kashmir,  who  had  understood the gravity  of the  issue  You  only  can  well understand,  the gravity ,of the issue,  when you were asked to keep mum , with  regard   to the the    extension of  yatra   duration   even as the elected  Chief Minster of the State ---- What  you desired   at that time  was mainly an administrative   viewpoint    or requirement.  But you   were made to surrender by Delhi, and Sangh lobby there.   You were   also heading the unified headquarters and the security agencies at that time. And even then you are mysteriously   silent.
You  are the  first   chief Minister---who   has faced  the wrath  of   the  Chairman  of he  Shrine Board---And   out of  power , your political  expediency should not have barred you  from opening  you min  on he issue.
I   only   want to remind you   when finally   you bowed against, congress or Delhi pressure.   The then Governor –Chairman of the Shrine Board   S.K. Sinha prolonged Yatra and made it bigger and bigger with every passing year. Sinha challenged your writ and authority, but    you failed to resist in time and gave vent to your feelings publicly only when the people came on the streets. Had you resisted   the   Sinha’s dictatorial approach and his attempts to trample the rights of the State  under his foot  and taken the people into confidence on  this delicate issue,   no  transfer  of land would  have  been there    and              certainly  no land row would  have  followed   It would   have demoralized the  overambitious  Governor Lt. Gen. (Ret )S  K SINHA.   It was too easy for you at that juncture of the time. —but it needed guts or at the worst   sacrifice, which is unknown to all Kashmir rulers and leaders.
RE-LOOK AT THE   LEGISLTON OF SHRINE BOARD
However that is past.     I know it is all in vain to discuss   it now. I mentioned it here, just to link   the events with the situation, prevailing today.  But Kashmir remembers   your promise,   made in view of the mass upsurge against the land transfer.  You      stressed the need for having a re-look at the legislation that led to the creation of SASB  under  the shadow  of   seriously flawed  Shrine Act of 2000  , but latter  did not  opt to  utter a word in this regard even not outside the Assembly after the elections were   over.    your    Dy. Chief Minister(PDP) in the   the  Azad  Government  Muzaffar Hussain  Beigh  in a big    crowded   press conference also promised that   in the next assembly session he would bring an amendment bill  in this   regard   But opted not talk about the issue   even casually thereafter.
Today ,  when a  new situation   has  emerged   ad  re-awakened     the people of  Kashmir ,    about    the    role  of tee  Shrine  Board , as the new   “EASD INDIA COMPANY- why    your   good self   and your party   is mysteriously      and  conspicuously silent. ------ With no opinion, with no   view point
AFTER ALL WHY--????? WILL YOU    KINDLY     COME OUT WITH A STATEMENT----- WHAT   WILL BE YOUR LINE OF ACTION TO SAVE KASHMIR? –WHY CRIMNAL   DOUBLE STANDARD IN KASHMIR   AND   UTTRAKAND-----DONT YOU FEEL NEED TO RAISE VOICE AGAINST THIS CRIMNAL    DOUBLE STANDARD ----?

HILAL WAR ARRESTED TO PREVENT FRIDAY PROTESTS

Srinagar, Sep 14 (Only Kashmir): In a late night raid on War House, Maisuma, a police contingent led by SHO Maisuma, arrested People’s Political Party (PPP) Chairman, Engineer Hilal Ahmed War. According to the party spokesman, War had finished his late night prayers and was preparing for some usual daily reading. The arrest is seen as a pre-emptive measure to thwart any possible protests on Friday by the activists of PPP against the controversial American film that has offended the Muslims worldwide. Social websites are full of angry responses from Muslims all over the world who are not only demanding an apology by the producers but also a complete ban on the screening of the movie. The film - Innocence of Muslims - that is alleged to be carrying blasphemous content has hurt the Muslim sentiments, attracting huge criticism, mostly by Islamic groups and individuals. Nigeria and many other countries have issued a nationwide security alert to forestall incidents of violence. MIRWAIZ UMAR FAROOQ LIKELY TO RECEIVE AN AWARD FROM PRESIDENT PRANAB MUKHERJEE

Srinagar, Sept 12 (Only Kashmir): Chairman of the moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has not yet made up his mind about receiving his PhD degree from President Pranab Mukherjee. The President is likely to be the chief guest at the annual convocation of the University of Kashmir on September 27.
Keeping in view the political fallout of accepting an award from the President, there is every likelihood that the Mirwaiz may not attend the function at all.
The Mirwaiz was conferred a doctorate in 2010 by the University of Kashmir for doing research on political thought in Islam under the guidance of Prof Naseem Ahmad Shah of the Department of Islamic Studies.
The Mirwaiz, who has registered himself for the university convocation, figures among the list of PhD scholars nominated by the university for receiving the awards (preferably a gold medal and a citation) from the chief guest.
“Yes, he has registered for the convocation. There are chances that he might participate in the event,” said a Hurriyat source. “He has not yet made up his mind yet,” the source said.
Despite repeated attempts, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was not available for comment. Officials of the university said the Mirwaiz has registered himself for the convocation.

DOORDARSHAN’S RENOWNED ANCHOR AND NATIONAL CONFERENCE LEADER FOUND IN A COMPRISING POSITION

Srinagar Sep 11 (Only Kashmir): According to sources a party from Police Station Nigeen conducted a raid over a complaint at a car parking near Bagh-e-Shagoofa at the famous picturesque Nigeen Lake last evening at around 7.30 p.m. and took into custody a renowned anchor of Doordarshan Srinagar (42). His alleged partner, who happens to be a leader of the ruling NC, managed to escape from the spot. However, Police seized his Scorpio, bearing registration No: JK01N-6565, along with his gun license of a .12 bore rifle, three ATM cards, a pair of shoes and a half-filled bottle of Hundred Piper whisky.
“We have arrested the female and launched a manhunt to arrest the male who managed to escape. As they were in a comprising position and taking liquor at a public place, we have filed FIR No: 110 of 2012 dated 10-09-2012 under section 294 RPC at Police Station Nageen”, one of the investigating officials confirmed to Media. He said that Police was on the job to arrest the escapee with the help of questioning of his PSOs, contacts, acquaintances and relatives.
According to the official, the escapee male was married and the female, taken into custody, was a divorcee. Asked if a medical test or a liquor consumption test had been conducted on the detained female, the official said that neither of the two was required in this matter. He said that the investigation was underway in light of the female’s disclosure and a corroboration that the couple had stayed for two previous nights at Royal Palace houseboat, anchored yards away from the car parking.
Section 294 of Ranbir Penal Code is invoked and slapped on “whoever, to the annoyance of others, does any obscene act in any public place or sings, recites or utters any obscene songs, ballads or words in or near any public place”. It is non-bailable and seeks “punishment with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three months or with fine or with both”.
The detained television anchor, who has been anchoring small screen shows, as well as high profile government functions, was placed in custody of Women’s Police Station Rambagh after three rounds of sustained questioning. Later, this evening she was released on the bail granted to her by a judicial magistrate.
The FIR identifies the escapee as Altaf Ahmad Wani alias Altaf Kaloo of Aeshmuqam, Anantnag, who is holding a party position and has functioned as NC’s MLC from April 2009 to April 2011. Even after he failed to get a fresh ticket in Legislative Council elections in 2011, he is known for his proximity to the NC’s top brass. In the Assembly elections of 2008, he was NC’s candidate from Pahalgam but lost to PDP’s Rafi Ahmad Mir with a deficit of about 14,000 votes.
The accused woman has been regularly anchoring the station’s daily morning show “Good Morning J&K”. She has anchored hundreds of DD’s programmes besides over 2,000 musical serials of DDK Srinagar and ‘DD Kashir’ in the last 10 years. Among the high-profile political and government functions, she has acted as anchor for a number of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s and AICC President Sonia Gandhi’s public shows in Srinagar. It was she who anchored Mrs Sonia Gandhi’s 10,000-strong show which was organized by Social Welfare Department, School Education Department and then Chairman of State Social Welfare Advisory Board, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, during Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad’s regime at SKICC in 2006.
ALTAF KALOO SUSPENDED FROM NATIONAL CONFERENCE
The National Conference on the instruction of the working president Omar Abdullah has suspended Altaf Ahmed Wani alias Altaf Kaloo R/o Aeshmuqam Anantnag from the primary membership of the party. “Altaf Kaloo has been suspended from the primary membership of the party, He has also been issued a show cause notice to explain his position and conduct within the next 7 days, the notice has been issued by the provincial president Kashmir” said the NC spokesman.

SHAHRUKH KHAN'S KASHMIR VISIT ALSO TURNED IN TO A BOLLYWOOD STORY

Bilal Bashir Bhat
Srinagar, 06 Sep (Only Kashmir):
The moment the Badshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan made his entry into the press conference venue people, both media and fans, went into tizzy as to what to do next. The King Khan although was fifteen minutes late, the spirits of media were not dampened and everyone jostled for space to have an exclusive footage of the superstar and ask questions. The conference was perhaps poorly organised and there were so much chaos that SRK took upon himself to calm the people, settle them down. A large queue of girls was waiting for a single handshake and an autograph. For me it was very shocking to witness, when a woman along with her two mature girls trying to come nearer to SKR for a photograph.
Several of his attempts of being polite and soft went in vain; Shahrukh even tried to bring silence by quoting Shatrughan Sinha's famous dialogue "Khaamosh". Although order was restored, in sometime an argument broke out when a female fan interrupted SRK's speech and urged the media to show some "professionalism". But then, her plea was booed down by journalists and was asked to leave the place for disturbing the press's proceedings. Meanwhile one of my Friend Rameez Makhdoomi posed a question to Bollywood’s Superstar SRK on non-depiction of stories of human pain such as rapes and disappearances with reference to Kashmir and only depiction of state run propaganda in Bollywood movies, which SKR answered in Filmy style.
On Saturday 01 Sep excitement turned into tragedy after a youth was critically injured in police action on here in Pahalgam, Kashmir when Riyaz Ahmad of Downtown Srinagar got some serious injuries while he was watching shooting scene SRK “I was in queue “excited about Sharukh” among hundreds of people suddenly a police party came and started beating people present there without assigning any reason, I’ve a got a serious fracture in my elbow, What was my crime? ” said Riyaz to Only Kashmir.
On Monday 03 Sep SKR spend whole night in the same room where legendary Raj Kapoor filmed the famous "Hum tum ek kamre mein band hon" song for his 1973 superhit teenage romance "Bobby".
"I am staying in 305, the room where 'hum tum ek kamre mein band ho' was shot in 'Bobby'. Feels sweet... now just to try and lose the keys... ha ha", SRK posted on his widely followed microblogging site Twitter Tuesday morning.
Shahrukh had been in Srinagar, Kashmir to shoot for Yash Chopra's untitled romantic film, also starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

KASHMIR UNDER COMMUNAL ATTACK?

By: Tahir Muzter
Amarnath is again in news, this time it is construction of Amaranth Road. As   a  researcher  of  Amaranth  Land  Row, with  400 pages   first   book on the  subject,  ready   for publication , I should like to  mention  that it is not just a road , it is much more   than that ------it  is    road   leading   to implementation of  a   big  conspiracy   against   Kashmir ----It is  road to  a  new  State  within  State .   This road is leading to Middle East like situation in Kashmir.  But   it is unfortunate,   it is a big   tragedy,   that those Hurriyat Leaders, who  were at the helm of affairs  of  peoples uprising   against   land   row (In  2008  )could   not  visualize  the   danger   in  shape   of  Shrine Act of  2000,  full of serious  flaws, ,  framed by  then  National  Conference  Government , perhaps   at the persuasion of  Delhi --   The issue is   also   linked  with ,  present  Governor’s accord   with  Sangash  Samti   of  Jammu,  restoring land    ,that  too  exclusively to  the  SHRIN BOARD , at   the dictation of  Sangh  Parivar . This   accord   was declared by   constitutional expert    like A.G.  Noorani, one sided,  immoral. Illegal--------and   worst than original land   transfer order of ---May. 2008.    It was  after  that  accord,  that   Singh Parivar  was   much  so  much  encouraged  , that  BJP National President Raj Nathan , in the National council  meeting  at Bangalore  demanded    nationalsation   of   Amaranth  route--- and it happened   just after a couple of days of Governor.s  appointed Panel accord   with    Sangrash  Samiti   of  Jammu  , as  referred above
That   is   the    new  introduction of  my  one  previous  article of  October , 2008, , published  in  the Greater Kashmir    It was  at  that  time  I could  see  it  as a communal    attack on Kashmir  and  also  titled  my  article ---------“Kashmir  under  communal  attack”
“AND   THE COMMUNAL TIME   BOMB IS TICKING”........ \
But alas   Hurriyat  Leaders , who were   then at the   helm of  affairs, could not understand  and did not took  notice  of the  development    then-----and the   result  is     that  the conspiracy  against    Kashmir   is now under implementation . According   to my information big   business    houses  in the country  -----  supporters of   Sang Parivar   are ready  to invest  in  Crores   in   making  Amaranth  Nagar In Kashmir, hinted    four years back , even before  LAND ROW OF  2008---, by  a renowned  journalist  son of  Kashmir  Armand  Husain Talib-------------My predictive   article  of  2008 , refereed above is reproduced  here in full, without   editing.

“This depressing and alarming simultaneously-----It is like Jewish approach to Palestine--------It is time to rethink before it is too late.  “Nationalization of Amaranth Yatra”(GK  26 Sep, 2008)-------- The need of the hour is to make leaders also  to understand, who are more concerned about their leadership, and trying to  surpass each other. In the most critical prevailing situation in Kashmir, Mirwaiz’s thoughts overlapped by distant dream of “Islamic banking system” as if Kashmir is free enough to indulge in this luxury.  Right to self-determination is alright; but political consciousness does not allow us   to be indifferent when presently Kashmir is under a serious and a planned attack. -------------
“Na Samjogay  tum   ai Kashmir walo ---tumari dastan tak bhi  na hogi dastoonoo main”
Kashmir is under a dreadful attack from Sangh Parivar. Events explain that Congress with the nationalist and secular credentials at the helm of affairs at the Centre is also perhaps swayed by Sangh. Parivar’s nefarious campaign against   people of Kashmir. Or it suits to the government of India to follow suit.  It was not just a coincidence that Babri Masjid was demolished by Sangh Parivar when it was Congress Government at the centre. There   are enough indications from the centre of its tightening the noose on Kashmir to suppress the sacred sentiment of its identity, awakened in a collective form for the first time in 61- long years as a result of illegal transfer of forest land against the letter and sprit of the law of the land. The en-mass protest was not communal at all. But  handling    of  the situation    in Kashmir and subsequently in Jammu,  is  no doubt, manifestation  of communal mindset of the rulers  of  the State and  those   at the Centre. The handling can be termed discriminative in it worst form and direct contempt to the Kashmiri sentiment of identity, which is still going on in Kashmir. How can people of Kashmir expect airplay when the Governor of the State is at the same time Chairman of the Shri Amaranth Shrine Board under the blind Shrine Board Act? The recent situation and it discriminative handling in the State is obvious to every one and it suggests, that the Governor of the State should not   be the Chairman of the Sheri Amaranth Shrine Board. It may not be out of any sort of prejudice, but because national interest demands it.
However it is a separate issue and demands threadbare discussion. Here it is the burning question of the attack, Sangh Pariwar has launched on Kashmir. And the ‘launching’ statement of BJP National president Rajnath singh is enough to bring it to home, that Shri Amarnath Shrine Board in its present form with its present obviously flawed Act. Is in the vanguard of the attack declared by BJP now. ---The worst apprehensions kashmiries were harboring against transfer or ‘diversion’ of land to the Shrine Board (SASB) is coming true.
BJP seeks to take over Yatra route” (GK Sep 14, 2008) A brief heading, but a big news. ---------   It needs to be read again and again together with “Panini Kashmir” Plan and thought of what is going to happen to secular Kashmir. when our basic identity is in danger.. And how can we fight it back. ----- As the Greater Kashmir has rightly described it---“The agenda is out. The link between the Amaranth agitation and behind the veil saffron plot is now exposed”------. ---Bhatia Junta Party has demanded nationalization of the entire route to Amaranth cave in the Kashmir valley. In his presidential address to the three day national executive meeting in Banglore.Rajnath Singh demanded that the road leading to the Amaranth should be nationalized. While demanding it to from the Central Govt., he has shamelessly said that it is needed “so that in future no attempt is made to disturb the social harmony.” As there is in no such instance  of  disturbance during  one hundred and  fifty years of Amarnath yare.--- And then how can the goal  of social harmony be reached  through a  nationalized  thoroughfare.? Or it is a veiled threat?
The BJP has sought to compare the Amaranth issue with the situation prevailing just after demolition of Bari Mashed in Ajodhya. The BJP president said that the then congress government had been able to acquire the “disputed land and end the controversy, the same can be done in Kashmir by nationalization of land in Kashmir.”  According to reports even some delegates present in that meeting   were puzzled by the radical proposal of nationalization of vast areas in Kashmir. He has also demanded carving out a separate area in the Kashmir valley for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits.
Surely it is not any co- incidence, but understandably a part of  Sangh Parivar’s wicked agenda.  “Panunu Kashmir”---an organization of some  migrated Pandits  has come out with their plan.    --------Kashmiri Pandits have a right to come to Kashmir resettle here, as they, all are bonafide State-Subjects.  But it is not just a question of their right to resettle in Kashmir again. It is beyond that and that too with dangerous implications. According to the statement issued   after the B JP’s Bangalore meeting was over. “Panini Kashmir” has said---“we have already earmarked the area for the creation of separate home-land on the north east river Jhelum.  The political  map of this  area has already been released This area, which includes Amarnath Shrine, provided vital surface link to Ladakh region,    creation of  Homeland with Union territory status in the valley would secure the territorial and civilizational imperatives of valley which   secure the territorial and civilizational imperatives of the Indian nation on the northwestern front”.
There  is another alarming revelation made by  PDP President Mehbooba Mufti in this regard. Her statement now  on BJP’s  wicked proposal   should be taken as “Ghar Ka Bhedi  lanka  dhaye”------- On September, 15, Mehbooba Mufti president PDP dared Sangh Parivar to try  and carry  out  its hidebound vicious plan of nationalizing the Amarnath route.  Reacting to the BJP president Rajnath Singh’s call for nationalizing  the Amarnath route,  she also pointed out  that, -------General Sinha had told  in an interview with “Saamma”-RSS- mounth-piece recently that he had presented to the Central Government a comprehensive plan of action centering around  the Amarnath, to  tame Kashmiries. In his interview General Sinha had lamented that the Government of India didn’t take any follow up action on his Kashmir Plan, although they appreciated it a lot.” -------- It shows that the General had more arms in his armory to tame the kashmiries firther
General Sinha’plan makes BJP President’s   statement together with “plan of Union territory in the Valley, more alarming for people of Kashmir.   This all explains that ‘‘Hamaree burbadioon kay mashwaray  ho rahe  hain aasmanoo  main”.   All this is bound to bulldoze our identity guaranteed under Article 370. What we fear is genuine as the recent situation in the State and its handling brings to surface many   ugly plans of taming people of Kashmir, and throttling their voice.  This is horrifying which can be visualized well ahead of coming events. It can be stopped only if we do right thing at right time.
The blunder is ours---- When  the  unilateral, immoral and illegal Govt.-Sang rash  Sami   accord was  made public by the Government  naming  it  shamelessly as “ victory for dialogue. ”. The leaders at the helm of affairs in Kashmir shelved the matter by disassociating themselves telling “land is no issue”.  -------- Is land no   issue? Yes, Kashmir is disputed and diverting peoples protest to 61 years old demand for right of self- determination is also understandable. However, the big question is-----Is it politically wise to allow erosion of Kashmir’s identity until our demand for right of self-determination is conceded.   ------------ OR we must  revolt against every  such nefarious design aiming at converting Kashmir into a colony as is being done now bluntly because of   our  blunder of remaining  indifferent to our identity in the past..   Telling “land is no issue”--- has encouraged Singh Privar and paved way for their achieving their objectives.  People of Kashmir have enough experience to understand that politicians and leaders have always their own expediencies. But at   time  any alarming event demand immediate attention and action.BJP National President’s  wicked demand of nationalization of Amaranth yatra route  together with another plan of  Union territory in the  valley is , no doubt an alarming  move and needs to fight back with our  political will and determination.
Nobody in Kashmir is against Shri Amarnath pilgrimage.  It has been going here for the last about two centenaries and no doubt with the support and available services of Muslims here. The Holy cave was discovered by the Kashmiri Muslims and handed over to Kashmiri Hindus, as  admitted by Dr.Karan Singh “I have to record that this sacred cave has among its guardians a Muslim family from Anantnag Kashmir, who receives his share offerings made at the holy cave every year (the Abode of Shiva by Prof. Fida Hassnain,--1989). Amarnath yatra is a tradition -----a practical token of our secular temperament and this will continue till Kashmir is on the map of the world. But unfortunately with the formation of   Shrine Board, non-kashmiries and outsiders converted it into a hotbed of political controversy.
Coming again on the issue of communal attack on Kashmir from Singh Parivar, we are supposed to give our mind to the land issue which became the basis of the controversy. Yes, apparently   “Land is no issue”. But the naked fact is that the issue is very much linked with Shri Amaranth Shrine Board (SASB), which functioned and acted like “EAST   INDIA COMPANY” in Kashmir. This is the Shrine Board Act.2000, which is obviously flawed and has made the Board powerful enough to dictate terms to the State Government, as it stands proved with the recent land diversion   to this Board. There is no doubt that Shrine Board in its present form and shape will prove  cancerous for ages old communal harmony in Kashmir .It is the Shrine Board in its  present form and  under the existing Act.,   that Singh Parivar is fluttering its wings to make the Board a launching pad  for  its communal attack.----It is the time  that the leaders  also give   their mind  to this alarming situation, and raise their voice to get the obviously flawed  Shrine Board Act. Amended with appropriate remedial measures taken in the matter. This is what the sacrifices of the people demand.  And this is how we can stop Sangh Parivar’s communal attack on Kashmir. Let people of Kashmir be aware of this communal time-bomb.’’

CRACKS IN HURRIYAT(M) CONTINUES

(Only Kashmir Exclusive)
Srinagar August 27, 2012

Hurriyat Conference was formed on March 10, 1993 as an alliance of 26 political, social and religious organizations in Kashmir. But in the present times perhaps it’s difficult to find 26 persons from the same conference working together in the same path. The example of this tragedy was found today at a Marriage party held at Hyderpora Srinagar when Shabir Shah’s made his entry and without smiling just shake hands with Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Moulana Abass those who were already present at the said wedding party, after that Shabir Shah sat down in a corner lonely. Now it was time for Nayeem Khan to make his entry it was shocking to guests present there that he even didn’t bother to say Hi Hello to all above mentioned persons except Shabir Shah, and sat down near to Shabir Shah. Looking at the situation, all the guests present at the wedding began to look at each other followed by whispering.
Meanwhile today the Executive council of Hurriyat Conference today held at Rajbagh office without the participation of Shabir Shah, Moulana Abbas, Aga Syed Hassan and Musdiq Adil. However all the said Executive Members send their representative but were not allowed to participate in the council.
Despite all this a common Kashmiri can expected unity not the division among separatist leadership which is also need of the hour. (OK)
