HASSAN ROHANI IS THE PRESIDENT OF REPUBLIC IRAN

Tehran Jun 15 (Only Kashmir): Moderate candidate Hasan Rowhani will be the next president of Iran after winning over 50 per cent of the vote.
Iran's interior minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said that Rowhani obtained more than half of 36 million votes cast in Friday's election.
Rowhani was the lone moderate candidate in the race and supported by reformists in a race that once appeared solidly in the hands of Tehran's Islamic establishment.
Today Rowhani's supporters took to the streets in celebration of his win.
The vote brings an end to the eight-year era of the combative President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whose 2009 re-election was steeped in controversy.
Candidates seen as hard-line loyalists included current nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili and Khamenei adviser Ali Akbar Velayati.
Tehran Mayor Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, another conservative candidate who had been running far behind in second place, conceded defeat.
Rowhani has controversially vowed to follow a policy of detente and interaction with the outside world.
A victory by former nuclear negotiator Hasan Rowhani is seen as a setback for Iran's Islamic establishment.
The British Foreign Office said in a statement that it hoped Mr Rowhani would use his victory to engage with international concerns over Iran's nuclear programme and develop a "constructive" relationship with the wider international community.
"We note the announcement that Hassan Rouhani has won the Iranian presidential elections," the statement said.
'We call on him to use the opportunity to set Iran on a different course for the future: addressing international concerns about Iran's nuclear programme, taking forward a constructive relationship with the international community, and improving the political and human rights situation for the people of Iran.'
'We certainly encourage them to,' Psaki said. 'But certainly the history here and what happened just four years ago gives all of us pause.'
Irregularities in the vote count of the 2009 election were Ahmadinejad won led to millions of Iranians protesting the results.
The Supreme Leader did publicly endorse a successor for Ahmadinejad, who had a spectacular falling out with the theocracy over his attempts to challenge Khamenei's near-absolute powers.
The Ayatollah did not reveal who he was voting for when he cast his ballot today.

Meanwhile today MLA Langate Engineer Rashid Tuesday said that it will be a futile exercise for Hurriyat to meet Prime Minister of India during his Kashmir visit. “India is not sincere and Prof. Saif-u-Din Soz must explain for what he has extended invitation to Hurriyat to meet PM of India. Did Manmohan Singh act when Mufti Mohammad Syed and Omar Abdullah write a letter to him seeking the mortal remains of Afzal Guroo back to Kashmir,”
Engineer Rashid said that Soz has no authority to invite Hurriyat for talks with Prime Minister. Mere meeting the PM will not resolve the issue. Let India declare Kashmir as a dispute and talk to Hurriyat,” he said.

FAROOQ RENZU SHAH BLAMES MANIKA GANDHI AGAINST ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER

Srinagar 21 April (Only Kashmir): The Insaaf Idara led by Kh. Farooq Renzu Shah expressed its deep anguish and dismay on cruel death of 26500 Pashmina goats in sequel to starvation and non availability of fodder. Insaaf which is social orginisation, pointed out that the basic situation which has led to such starvation of innocent goats has been deliberately caused by biased environmentalist Ms Manika Gandhi who always projected these Chiru and changra goats as sources of Shahtosh. It is because of her wrong and biased propaganda that she ensured banning of Shahtosh and consequently local Kashmiri handicraft related persons were rendered jobless. It has been traditionally people associated with Kashmiri Handicrafts who would ensure providing of fodder and food to such goats when this trade was free from any banned restrictions. They would use their wool for Shahtosh and Pashmina and never killed Chiru and Chitra for this purpose as wrongly projected by Ms Monika Gandhi’s environment organisation. Historically these handicrafts have been encouraged by Hazrat Bulbul Shah RH and Hazrat Ammir-i- KabirRH during their lifetimes. Since then this trade was flourishing from Qarakul lake of Kashgar up to Banihal passes of Kashmir. Even king Nepolian, was also presented Shahtosh Shawl by Kashmiri handicraft person but due to wrong campaign launched by Ms Manika Gandhi with deliberate target to bring this trade to stand still thousands of trades men were adversely effected. The Shahtosh was projected as smuggled item and so many Kashmiris associated with this trade were booked under various offences treating and confusing both Shahtosh and Pashmina as one stuff and unnecessary terming genuine and pious trade as illegal activity. These circumstances led to collapse of the Shahtosh and Pashmina Industry and these innocent goats could not get proper treatment and food. The lake of interaction between traders and source goats of Shahtosh and Pashmina led to their starvation. The result is obviously in the death of 26500 Pashmina goats in Chanthang area of Ladakh which is biggest environmental disaster of present era and no one had raised even finger on the personality responsible for such disaster. Insaaf reminded Manika Gandhi about anti polythene campaign which was started in Kashmir but she never extended her support for anti polythene campaign rather she helped 45 industries which were polythene manufacturing units inspite of the fact they were ordered to be closed by Supreme Court. This is clear example of her bias she believes in protecting harmful dogs on street but she engineers death of thousands of Pashmina goats which are source of livelihood of lakes of Kashmiries. (OK)

ACCESSION TO INDIA WAS ON THREE SUBJECTS: OMAR ABDULLAH

Jammu Mar 25 (Only Kashmir): Giving historical background of the accession of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union of India, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday said that those who repeatedly cram that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India (Atoot Ang) forget that the accession was only on three subjects of communication-currency, defence and foreign affairs, which was gradually eroded.
The Chief Minister said that it is also a fact that political issue of Jammu and Kashmir with internal and external dimensions exists and all the Union Governments right from 1971 either headed by BJP, Janta Dal or Congress have recognized this issue. And this does not at all constitute any challenge to the accession of the State to the Union of India. “If we talk of the necessity of resolving this political issue having Indo-Pak external dimension and internal dimension between the Union of India and the State, do we cease to be Indians? How does it amount to challenging accession”, he questioned and said that by talking about Kashmir issue is not in any way making us to cease to be citizens of India or challenging the State to be part of the Country.
“Those who repeatedly talk about the Kashmir being integral part of Union of India are responding to whom? Has any member of the House questioned it?” he asked and said that for the resolution of political issues of Jammu and Kashmir various viewpoints and formulas have been given by different political parties which includes Autonomy Report projected and piloted by National Conference, Self-Rule proposal of PDP and Indira-Sheikh Accord of Congress. “The Kashmir issue exists and no one can deny it. It is not necessary we agree with each other’s viewpoints but at the end of the day we all want to address this political issue and resolve it amicably”, he said.
“By repeating the word of ‘Atoot Ang’ (Integral Part) time and again, you cannot change the status of political issue of Jammu and Kashmir. To change the scenario you have to win over the hearts of people of Jammu and Kashmir. I have always said that Kashmir will be true part of India when you win over the hearts of the people and care for their hopes and aspirations. If you will reject them there will be alienation. Every Kashmiri is not Pakistani. When they get rejected they resort to raising such slogans which they do not believe by heart and they do it to give vent to their anger. (OK)

PAKISTAN DESERVES CONGRATULATIONS

By: Bilal Bashir Bhat
While achieving a major milestone the Pakistan National Assembly for the first time ever since its existence have completed its full term of Five Years under the stewardship of president Asif Ali Zardari. The National Assembly or lower house of Parliament completed its constitutional five-year term on Saturday and the cabinet of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, as required under the constitutional compulsions, was dissolved at midnight, marking the first time an elected set-up has not been removed by the military or other political forces. Prime Miniser’s farewell address that "We have strengthened the foundations of democracy to such an extent that no one will be able to harm it in future," is index of determination and will of the people of Democratic Pakistan.
Pertinently, On 7 August 2008, the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Pakistan Muslim League (N) agreed to force Musharraf to step down and thus, begin his impeachment. In the general elections held in February 2008, the party of slain leader Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) won 123 seats in the National Assembly while the Pakistan Muslim League (N) of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif won 91 seats in the National Assembly. President Musharaf's ally party Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q) came third with 54 seats. After the elections the People's Party Parliamentarian and the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz announced a coalition to form the new government along with the Awami National Party (ANP).
Now Pakistan is a democratic Country and the mood of democratic people cannot be challenged. However since the day, Pakistan came in to existence in 1947, efforts for establishment of Democracy in the country by sincere and good-hearted leadership became causality time and again.  Thanks to some power greedy elements who used the equal efforts to abolish democratic system in the country. Pakistan Peoples Party led government came into existence all credit goes to President Asif Ali Zardari, who made all efforts to strengthen roots of democracy in the country. The icon of Peoples Party, Benazir  Bhutto's widower  asif Ali Zardari proved surprisingly agile at survival. Three years ago, he handed over much of his power to the prime minister and in the process, robbed his critics of the accusation that he was amassing power like his predecessor. He also transferred some power from the central government to the provincial levels which perhaps have helped Pakistan to survive the Democracy.
Anyways Pakistan deserves congratulation for creating this unexpected history. Now it will be interesting to learn how much the masses of Pakistan love their country and how they will protect newly earned democracy.

Our men exercised maximum restraint to avoid civilian causalities. Our men shot dead two militants while probably one managed to escape. Unfortunately, five of our jawans were killed in the attack while seven including three civilians were injured,” Inspector General CRPF, V.S Yadav told CNS.
CRPF, Police and Special Operation Group personnel cordoned the area to flush out the militants. JKYJA COMPLETED ONE YEAR

The Jammu & Kashmir Young Journalists Association (JKYJA) was exactly formed out one year ago on March 5, 2012 under the dynamic leadership of Editor-in-chief Kashmir Media Watch Ajaz Ahmad War (President, JKYJA), to raise the problems confronted by media especially the young journalists of the state.
In its first year JYYJA has forcefully championed the cause of journalists and in this relation held important events, fruitful dialogue with authorities, civil society and eminent delegations.
The  JKYJA has made all out efforts to meet its basic objective to address the problems faced by the media fraternity especially the young media professionals who usually face tough times at the start of their career. In its one year journey, several members belonging to different prestigious media outlets have joined the organization and the main view expressed during the journey  has been that JKYJA  would toil for the healthy development of the journalists (belonging to any stream of journalism including photo/video journalism and freelancing) especially the young ones so as to provide them an ample space and scaffold to explore and hone up their skills as better journalists and consequently help towards maintaining the dignity of the fourth (4th) pillar of democracy
The JKYJA has also marked with great enthusiasm the important celebrations related to Media as was evident from observing with great zeal the world Press freedom Day in 2012. On the eve of world press day 2012, Jammu& Kashmir Young Journalists Association (JKYJA) held important events .
The JKYJA has also been forceful in putting up its concerns towards the fact that lack of freedom of expression is marring the functioning of media in our part of the world. JKYJA has maintained “Media” has key role to play in the overall functioning of a democratic system, but the manner in which freedom of press has been scuttled in the state over the past few decades is a cause of concern.
Via its ground work over the past one year different social and civil society sane voices have praised JKYJA. We hope to carry the same positivity in our second year as well and usher a new dawn for the betterment of journalism in our part of the world. (OK)
