BOYCOTT AGAINST ALL PARTY DELEGATION: HILAL WAR

Srinagar, Sept 19 (Only Kashmir) : People’s Political Party (PPP), Chairman, Hilal Ahmad War, before Press Conference Kashmir is in the middle of one of the worst crisis since 1947 – a crisis that is humongous both in terms of its impact and the far reaching fallouts that it carries along. This fresh round of uprising against the Indian occupation has already consumed more than a hundred lives in just 100 days and the worst part is that the victims are being projected as perpetrators by the Indian State. Through sheer might of its military, police, media and other wherewithal, government of India is crushing our legitimate movement and also trying to portray us as troublemakers who can’t rest in peace. India wants to continue with its oppressive policy by arming its forces with “unimaginable” powers to kill anybody, anywhere, at any point of time just to make sure that this Intifada passes off as a matter of misgovernance and misgivings between Kashmiris rather than an independence movement.
The post-Eid persecution that the Kashmiris are facing is something that isn’t spontaneous but it is a sinister plot that was hatched before the auspicious day after the Indian agencies started seeing the writing on the wall. A couple of incidents of arson where blown out of proportion and given prominence in the media to overshadow a mega show of people’s sentiment for the independence on Eid. An abrupt war hysteria was created through the news channels and a vicious propaganda was unleashed against the peaceful Kashmiris to discredit our genuine struggle and just cause.Any political & economic packages or other sorts of appeasements or nefarious plans implemented through K. C. Pant, Dulat, Jethmalani, Wajahat Habibullah, Advocate Ashok Bhan etc by Govt. of India are destined to meet a disgraceful failure. By buying loyalties using traitors and pseudo-freedom fighters for elections or dialogue will get India nowhere and neither will it help in creating peace in Kashmir. It is highly advisable for Dr. Manmohan Singh & other Indian leaders to accept the hardest realities of Kashmir problem & concede the right of self-determination to the people of J & K State, so that the South Asia gets guarded against the otherwise inevitable horrors of nuclear war.In view of the aforesaid position and ground realities our party PPP has rightly and thoughtfully advocated a 3-point formula since 10th August , 1996 which if acted upon, shall save J & K State from armed turmoil & also ensure peace & prosperity in the subcontinent of India & Pakistan. People of J & K State shall never allow any person, political party or conglomerate to act as their political attorney in connection with the settlement of Kashmir dispute. The Kashmir problem is the question of life & death for the people of J & K State who alone can directly settle this problem through fair & impartial referendum. The role of India & Pakistan is the role of co-operation only but the role of adjudication is the prerogative & inherent right of the people of both sides of control line. Let Indian leaders learn a lesson from Algerian liberation war against France, American war of Independence from Britain, Indian war of Independence commanded by Subhash Chander Bose, Irish war of Independence from Britain etc. and bow before the aspirations of J & K people by conceding their right of self-determination before it is too late.A slew of lies, fabrications and cooked stories has now been topped by a typical Chanakya policy of deceit and cunning formation of the All Party Delegation to visit Kashmir.
May I ask the UPA Chairperson and the Prime Minister of India what purpose this delegation will serve in calming the tempers and bringing about peace except it being a time biding tactic and an attempt to co-opt a handful of people secretly by the use of money and other sops. We warn the Indian government that it should face the ground realities and understand no peace is possible unless the burning Kashmir issue is resolved. Kashmiris won’t settle for anything less than Azadi and the sooner India realizes it, the better it would be for all the parties involved i.e. India, Pakistan and the principal party Kashmir. We didn’t sacrifice a hundred thousand youth in the last twenty years, and many thousands before that, to go for a sell out or accept a solution within the Indian constitution that the Kashmiris have never accepted. Can the All Party Delegation walk on the streets of Srinagar and talk to the youths? No. Can it reach out to the people?
No. Because it knows if it does, the reality will dawn before the world once more. Kashmiris who have been taking to streets by tens of thousands continuously for more than three months now have an unshakable resolve to fight India within the jurisprudence of United Nations Charter for the legitimate right of Self-determination and get freedom. It’s such a shame that these people are coming here to rub salt into our wounds by unleashing their forces on us on one hand and trying to sweet talk us into their trap on the other. This show of hypocrisy and subterfuge must end and it should occur to India that the only resolution to the crisis is giving Kashmiris their right to self-determination.
This visit of the delegation is nothing but another drama in the political theatre of Kashmir directed and produced by the Indian Home Department. No pro-freedom leader is going to meet them and they are seen as unwelcome guests by the Kashmiris. I request all the Kashmiris and our pro-freedom friends too to completely stay away from this deceitful exercise and not fall in the Indian snare. Let India come out with a concrete, honest and genuine initiative to resolve the issue, every Kashmiri would welcome it. We’ve nothing against India except that she has subjugated us and is unwilling to set us free. But India must know freedom is a birth right and nobody, however mighty, can snatch it.

Appeal to Call off protest at Kashmir Military Camps
Hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani had asked supporters to hold "peaceful protests" outside camps.
An army spokesman accused the Hurriyat group of "trying to whip up passions".
Meanwhile, in the latest Kashmir clash, four people were wounded after security forces opened fire to disperse an anti-India protest in Budgam district.
Anti-India sentiments are high in Indian-administered Kashmir where nearly 100 protesters have died since June.
Nearly all of those killed were shot dead by government forces. The entire valley has been under curfew for six days.
The Indian government has announced that a fact-finding team will visit the region on Monday to meet different sections of the population and gather all shades of opinion.
"It's a deliberate ploy by the Hurriyat Conference to try to whip up passions and embroil the Indian army in the ongoing agitation," a defence spokesman in Srinagar, Lt-Col JS Brar, said.
"I appeal to all the peace-loving people of Kashmir to ensure that these nefarious designs are not brought to fruit," he added.
On Thursday, Mr Geelani called for protesters to block army camps with sit-in demonstrations.
"I have urged people to stage peaceful sit-in protests in front of army and security force camps in Kashmir," he said.
Correspondents say the sit-ins will pose a new challenge to security forces who are struggling to restore order.
On Friday morning, police said they had opened fire on stone-throwing protesters in Budgam.
An army patrol, accompanied by police, was passing through Chupora village in Beerwah town when a group of protesters pelted it with stones.
The troops fired live ammunition, injuring four people, police said.
On Wednesday, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh chaired an all-party meeting over continuing violence in Kashmir.
Separatist leaders dismissed the gathering as a public relations ploy.
Many analysts see the recent protests as the biggest challenge to Indian rule in Kashmir for two decades.
The Kashmir dispute has been the cause of major tension between India and Pakistan for six decades.

Kashmir's Separatist Leaders Reject Outcome Of All-Party Meeting

Srinagar Sep 16, (Only Kashmir): Separatist leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have rejected the outcome of Wednesday's over five-hour-long All-Party meeting, unanimously terming the endeavor a futile and time buying exercise aimed to deny Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination. The chairman of Hurriyat (Geelani) Syed Ali Shah Geelani termed it as a time gaining exercise. He further said New Delhi and its allies in Kashmir have been creating much hype about the meeting. "The outcome of the meeting was disappointing and negative for Kashmiris. The pro-India parties stuck to their traditional stand on Kashmir. I have no doubt to say that these meetings have proven to be futile rather time gaining exercise," Geelani said. Geelani said it is high time for India and its allies in Kashmir to adopt a realistic approach to resolve the dispute. "I also make it clear that the Conglomerate will not talk with the All Party Delegation during its visit to Kashmir. I reiterate that ongoing movement will continue till our five demands are implemented on ground," Geelani maintained. Geelani rejected the statement of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that the protests in Kashmir are instigated by apparently by the pro-freedom groups. "New Delhi and the state government know the reality and they are trying to divert the attention from the ongoing agitation by blaming pro-freedom parties for violence," he said. Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik termed the all party meeting a futile exercise. Malik said in the past 63 years the Kashmir dispute has consumed three generations. "In 90s, guns were the reference points and it internationally highlighted the Kashmir dispute. After guns, there was a transition of the Kashmiris' movement into a peaceful stage. However, New Delhi has kept the movement lingering at the cost of Kashmiris," Malik said. He said instead of acknowledging the sacrifices of Kashmiris, the All Party Meeting has left no stone unturned to appease the communal and anti-Kashmir parties. "The meeting took place at a time when Kashmiris are being killed with impunity and whole Valley is continuously reeling under curfew," he said. Castigating the BJP for opposing revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), Malik said when the party was in power, it engaged even the militant leadership for resolving the Kashmir dispute. "This shows the BJP's hypocrisy. It is playing politics on the blood of Kashmiris," he said. Malik warned that if India delays the resolution of the dispute, Kashmiris will be forced to take violent recourse. "Instead of these futile meetings, India should on priority resolve the dispute taking the aspirations of Kashmiris into consideration. Delaying the vexed issue will have dangerous consequences," Malik maintained. The chairman of Hurriyat (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq termed the All Party Meeting as a façade to hoodwink the international community and Kashmiris.

Give Time & Support To Umar: Rahul Gandhi
Kolkata: Amid reports of a meeting between PDP patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh on Tuesday night that raised speculation over a new political alignment in Jammu & Kashmir, Rahul Gandhi said CM Omar Abdullah "needs time and support". Addressing a press conference here, he also ruled out his intervention in affairs of Jammu and Kashmir and refused to comment on demands for withdrawal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from the state. "The government has supported Omar Abdullah. National Conference is the party in power. He is a youngster. Kashmir is a difficult place. Omar is doing a tough job and he should be given time and support," Gandhi told a press conference when asked whether Omar had failed. Replying to questions on Kashmir and Omar Abdullah, he said the Congress was supporting him and he is the leader of the NC. "It is their decision to run Kashmir. They are in a partnership," he said. "I think we have to give him support. Kashmir is a sensitive job. We have to give him time and support," Gandhi said. He corrected a questioner to say that he did not say that the Kashmir situation was critical. In the midst of the ongoing unrest in Kashmir, Mufti had a meeting with Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday night which led to speculation that the two parties could revive their alliance to form a government in Kashmir. To a question on AFSPA, Gandhi said he would "defer to the Prime Minister on the subject. I would say the Prime Minister has knowledge on the subject. I would lower my head. The Prime Minister has more knowledge on the subject". He said, "It is a complex issue and he would not like to say whether he wanted it or did not want. It would be unfair on my part to do so irresponsible". "It is for senior people like the Prime Minister to comment on that. For me to say I am for or against would be unfair or irresponsible," Gandhi told a questioner. When asked to comment on PDP president Mehbooba Mufti requesting his intervention in the Kashmir problem, Gandhi said, "Kashmir is not a part time problem, it is a full time problem." He also had a tongue in cheek that he was being offered new jobs "If I were to get into it, I would have to give full time to it. There are many other leaders who want to give me a job. The way I have been brought up is to carry out my responsibility. I am doing a job now. It is a full time responsibility (as a leader of the Youth Congress). I have to finish it. "Somebody wants me to take up Commonwealth Games organising job. They are others who can do it. I don't want to look to move from one problem to another. They are others who can handle Kashmir. "I will go to Jammu and Kashmir as my drive is to go to every party of India to bring the youth into the political system. It's a full time responsibility to bring youngsters in politics," Gandhi said.

UNCONDITIONAL DIALOUGE IN KASHMIR: MEHBOOBA

Jammu Sep 15: Jammu and Kashmir's Opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to announce an unconditional dialogue in Kashmir to resolve the situation in the disturbed State. 'We appeal to the prime minister to go for unconditional dialogue,' PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti told in an all-party meeting on Kashmir that lasted for more than five hours on Wednesday.

“This meeting is taking place a few months too late and against the backdrop of an unprecedented crisis faced by our state. But it is a matter of some satisfaction that the entire political class of the country has at least now got together to take note of a great tragedy that has unfolded in Jammu and Kashmir,” she mentioned. It is a political problem that is not beyond the political genius of our times. Only that the response has not to be a hundred or thousand dead bodies too late. The more we delay it the more it gets complex and painful. Neither has the wheel to be invented afresh every time the people of the state cry for attention.
The only fundamental requirement is to recognize the existence of a problem that concerns a large mass of people and give up the usual make believe attitude that it will go away without solving it. Instead of responding to events, which too is done now unfortunately very reluctantly, we will have to start a process that is uninterruptedly focused on resolution. The problem has both external and internal dimensions and the leadership at the national level has recognised it be it the UPA or NDA even if we talk only in contemporary terms.
'But the government should release the youth arrested under the Public Safety Act... The curfew, which Kashmiris have been suffering under, should also be lifted,' said Mufti. On the issue of repealing the contentious Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), she said: 'We should definitely have something real and concrete, not something which is cosmetic.'

Dialogue in Kashmir should be held only if violence stops: BJP

New Delhi Sep 15: Maintaining that it was opposed to demand for autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP today said dialogue with any group should be held within the constitutional framework only if they abjure violence.
"We are opposed to any demand for autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir and want that dialogue with any group should be held within the Constitutional framework by abjuring violence," BJP chief spokesperson Ravishankar Prasad told reporters in New Delhi.
Speaking about his party's stand at the all-party meeting held today at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence to discuss the situation in Kashmir, Prasad said the BJP would support any such dialogue.
On the vexed issue of withdrawal of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), he said, "The security forces, including armed forces have done very good work in the region in ensuring security against terrorists and separatists and no decision should be taken which has the effect of demoralising the security forces."
BJP chief Nitin Gadkari, chairman of BJP parliamentary party LK Advani, leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley were part of the all-party meet.
Prasad said "certain elements" within the Pakistan government "had a big hand in the cross-border terrorism that Jammu and Kashmir was facing."
The BJP also said in the all-party meet that the government should take into confidence the people of Ladakh and Jammu prior to taking any decision on Jammu and Kashmir.
He said if an all-party delegation visits Kashmir, as suggested by home minister P Chidambaram during the crucial meeting today, then BJP would be part of it.
To a question if the BJP had raised the demand of resignation of Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah in the meeting, Prasad said the party has already made a public demand for this and there was no need to raise it again today.
Asked if the BJP was the only party in the meeting that sought no dilution in the AFSPA, Prasad said he was not in a position to comment on behalf of other parties, but the BJP's stand on the issue was unwavering.
On whether he would rate the all party meeting as a success or failure, Prasad said the BJP was still to hear a final word from the government.
