1,00,000 people visit SKIMS for treatment in three months

Srinagar, Aug.30 (OK): SK Institute of medical Science, Soura Srinagar, has been catering to need of the sick in the valley for almost three decades. Initially around one lakh to two lakh patients used to visit SKIMS. Per year. In the last three years more than 14 lakh people have visited SKIMS. In the last three months approximately one lakh patient have visited institute in-spite of hartals and curfews.
During this period a significant number of injured patient have been admitted, treated and operated in the Institute .All these patients have received treatment including investigation like CT Scan/MRI etc free of cost at SKIMS not only has money been made available for this,Govt has also taken care of some financial difficulties that SKIMS had in non-plan budget. Director SKIMS Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar, has expressed his gratitude to the Govt for helping SKIMS to overcome financial difficulties and providing requisite resources.
