India acting through barrel of gun: Mirwaiz to ICS

Srinagar, Aug 30 (Only Kashmir): The Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday apprised a delegation of Indian Civil Society (ICS) led by Swami Agnivesh about the unabated killings of Kashmiri youth by troopers and policemen. Mirwaiz told the delegation that New Delhi has spread wrong information about the ongoing struggle for right to self-determination.

“India has been talking peace but acting through the barrel of gun. While over 60 Kashmiri youth have been killed during the past 2-months, not a single cop or trooper has been harmed. It shows that disproportionate force is being used to quell peaceful protests,” Mirwaiz told the delegation. Mirwaiz urged the delegation that the Indian Civil Society should not look at the Kashmir dispute from the Pakistani prism. “It is your responsibility to abreast the India Civil Society about the aspirations and sentiments of Kashmiris,” he said. The delegation assured Mirwaiz that it will facilitate the interaction of pro-freedom leaders with people of various states to aware them about the aspirations of Kashmiris.
