Srinagar 22 Sept (Only Kashmir): At least nine persons died when a Sumo they were traveling in fell into a deep gorge on Srinagar-Leh highway on Wednesday.
They said the Sumo (JK-10-1700) on its way from Kargil to Srinagar fell into 300-feet deep gorge near Ganiwan area of Kangan, 30 kms from here this morning.
An officer told Agence India Press that eight Nepalese nationals among nine killed in this accident.
He said the deceased were Nepali labourers and their bodies are lying for identification at SDH Kangan. The deceased driver of the ill-fated vehicle was identified as Ahmed Ali son of Abdul Aziz.
