Accept 5-point formula to restore normalcy: Geelani to APD

Srinagar: The Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday reiterated that if India fulfills 5-conditions put forward by him normalcy would be restored in the Valley. Five-members of the All Party Delegation that called on him at his residence here urged him to restore normalcy in the Valley. Geelani told them once New Delhi accepts his 5-point formula normalcy would be restored. Geelani without mincing any words said that India should accept Kashmir as a dispute and it should rein in its forces. The APD members assured him that they would convey his message to people of India and the formula put forward by him would be discussed threadbare. Pertinently, the octogenarian leader earlier this month had said that India should accept Kashmir an international dispute, begin demilitarisation in the state under the supervision of a “credible’ world agency, repeal all harsh laws, including Armed Forces Special Powers Act and Public Safety Act, release all political prisoners and punish the forces’ personnel involved in the recent killings. He also wanted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to publicly commit and ensure no further killings do take place.
