COURT SENDS BISCOE SCHOOL ALUMNI MASRAT AALAM BHAT TO 5-DAYS POLICE REMAND

Srinagar Oct 20 (Only Kashmir): A local court on Tuesday remanded senior pro-freedom leader and general secretary of Hurriyat Conference (G) to five-day police remand.
Official sources said that Alam, chairman Muslim League, was produced before the court of forest magistrate, Masarat Roohi this afternoon who granted him five days police remand.
They said that as soon as Alam was produced before the court, a team of lawyers including Nazir Ahmad Ronga, Bashir Ahmad Sidiq, Mohammad Rafiq Joo, Mir Shafaqat and others appeared before the court. The made some contentions including that the Biscoe Schoool alumni be kept in police station Harwan where case is registered against him,
Advocate Rafiq Ahmad Joo said that the contention was made after Masrat Alam alleged that he was kept in ‘Cargo-SOG Camp’.
Besides, he said, the lawyers submitted that Alam should be allowed to meet the family and also adequate health care should be given to him.
“The court allowed our contention as Mr Alam was granted police remand for 5-days,” he told Press Bureau of India.
Masrat Alam Bhat was arrested by police during a raid in Telbal area in outskirts of here last evening.
